Our projects in Bolivia and Peru are looked after by our head of project for South America, the  ENT-specialist Dr Ulrike Lamlé from Berlin. For several years now Ulrike Lamlé has been committed with heart and soul on supporting our South American partners in the organisation of help for cleft children. Gunther Au-Balbach
Munich-based Dr Dr Oliver Blume and Gunther Au-Balbach from Solingen (oral and maxillofacial surgeon and consultant) have made it their mission to train colleagues from East Africa on the procedures necessary for the operations of cleft children. The success of this endeavour can be seen, for example, in Uganda, where Drs Laurent and Deus are now self-dependently operating on children with cleft lip and palate. Dushyant Prasad is overseas consultant of Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe. He manages and implements our aid for cleft children in India and Southeast Asia. In India he is directly involved in the organisation of medical help, locally organising educational work and parts of the functional therapy. Contact: dushyant.prasad@spaltkinder.org

Vietnam (second project)

Dr. Daniel Lonic
Dr Daniel Lonic was an International Craniofacial Fellow at the craniofacial centre of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan, from 2014 to 2016. During this time he took part in operating campaigns run by the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) in several Asian countries. Through him we were able to initiate the new project together with the NCF in the Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. He is the manager for Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe's part of the project. Contact: www.mface.de

Tajikistan

Dr. Martin Kamp
Dr Martin Kamp, an ENT-doctor from Kempen, has been engaged in providing aid to children with cleft lip and palate in Tajikistan since 2009. In the meantime he has managed to fit out a fully equipped cleft centre in the capital, Dushanbe, which has become a drop-in centre for cleft children from all parts of the country. This modern clinic enables our local doctors to provide the patients with the best care available. Contact: Dr. Martin Kamp
