Institutional supporters
Numerous foundations and non-profit aid organizations help us do our work. We also receive state funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and from the Federal Foreign Office. Some of these partnerships have been ongoing for many years.
Lore-Keller-Stiftung
The Lore-Keller Foundation has been supporting our work for cleft children in Africa and Asia since 2007. Over the years it has enabled thousands of operations and treatments for cleft patients in several countries. The foundation also is committed to the training of local doctors and promotes the international networking of our project partners.
Sternstunden e. V.
Sternstunden, the charity of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation, has been supporting our effort to help children with cleft lip and palate in Peru since 2008. In addition to the financing of surgeries, Sternstunden also supports the children’s aftercare, for example through language and functional therapy treatments.
BILD hilft e. V. „Ein Herz für Kinder“
BILD hilft e. V. “Ein Herz für Kinder”, the charity of German newspaper BILD, has been supporting our aid project in Pakistan since October 2019. The aid organization finances the operations of cleft children in various regions of Pakistan for a period of one year. After the end of the funding from the Federal Foreign Office, the continued existence of the project is thus ensured.
Dr. Martin Andreas Stiftung – Ärzte für Kinder in Not
The Dr. Martin Andreas Foundation – Doctors for Children in Need has been supporting our aid for cleft children since autumn 2013. Thanks to them, we have been able to help hundreds of children in Asia and South America. “1,000 children’s faces – 1,000 children’s lives” is the goal set by Dr. Martin Andreas, which he reached in 2018. The next project, to enable another 1,000 children to have the operation with the help of supporters, followed seamlessly. As of February 2022, almost 800 of these operations have already been financed.
Charlotte-Steppuhn-Stiftung
The Charlotte Steppuhn Foundation began making operations for cleft children possible in 2002. From 2009 on, the foundation supported operations for affected children in Peru and supported the training of two Peruvian language and functional therapists in Germany and Switzerland in 2012/2013. The foundation has been cooperating with us in Bangladesh since 2017 and supports the further expansion of our aid project there.
Margarete Müller-Bull Stiftung
The Margarete Müller-Bull Foundation from Stuttgart has been funding a large number of operations for children with cleft lip and palate in our project countries India and Bangladesh every year since 2014.
Stiftung Hilfswerk Deutscher Zahnärzte für Lepra- und Notgebiete (HDZ)
Since 2010, the German Dentists’ Foundation for Aid for Leprosy- and Emergency Regions (HDZ) has been supporting operations for cleft children from needy families in Bolivia, making a major contribution to the further development of our project in the poor South American country.
Lamlé Kinderhilfe LaKi Kids International e. V.
Lamlé Children’s Aid LaKi Kids International e.V. was founded in 2013 by Dieter and Dr. Ulrike Lamlé and their four adult children Philip, Alicia, Thomas and Patricia. Ever since, the association has supported operations in our projects. Ulrike Lamlé supports our aid projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Peru and Bolivia.
Nader Etmenan Stiftung
Our partnership with the young and dynamic Nader Etmenan Foundation from Hamburg began in 2018. The foundation funds operations for cleft children in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia every year. Effective aid befitting the foundation’s motto “don’t ignore problems; tackle them”.
Eva Mayr-Stihl Stiftung
The Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation supported surgeries for cleft children in 2012, 2016 and 2019. In the pandemic year 2020, the foundation supported our aid in Bangladesh with a particularly large grant: Thanks to the purchase of urgently needed protective equipment against Covid-19 and important additional medical equipment made possible by their generous support, almost 200 operations were made possible in December 2020 alone.
Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)
The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has been promoting the establishment of comprehensive treatment structures for cleft children in Lima and outside of Lima since early 2017. The successful project has a duration of three years.
Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e. V.
The flagship project of the RTL Foundation is their annual donation marathon, the longest charity event on German television. The donations raised are used to support selected projects that provide aid for children . We are happy to be represented at this event for the second time in a row and grateful for the funding for our work to help for children with cleft deformities in Bangladesh.
